SONY BMG Sweeps The UK Charts
Today SONY BMG Music Entertainment is celebrating a clean sweep of the UK Charts – with its releases occupying the No.1 position in the Singles chart, Artist Albums chart, Compilations chart and DVD Chart - a first for the company.
In the Single Charts Leona Lewis's Bleeding Love debuts at No.1, with sales of 218,805 for Syco Music, becoming the biggest selling single of the year to date. In the Artist Album charts, The Hoosiers' debut album The Trick of Life enters at No.1 for the RCA Label Group with the band's second single Goodbye Mr A remaining in the top ten of the Singles chart. The second volume of the Radio 1 Live Lounge Series goes straight in at No.1 in the Compilation Chart for Commercial Division. Finally, in the Music DVD chart, AC/DC's double live boxed set, Plug Me In also debuts at the top position for the Commercial Division and Columbia Label. The company also enjoys a particularly strong showing in the National Radio Airplay charts, with 5 UK artists in the top ten all on their debut albums; Leona Lewis's Bleeding Heart is joined in the top ten by Mark Ronson with Valerie, Newton Faulkner with All I Got, The Hoosiers with Goodbye Mr A and Scouting For Girls with She's So Lovely. In the National TV Airplay charts Mark Ronson holds the top spot and is joined in the top 5 by Leona Lewis and Britney Spears. Read More |
