Pearl Jam released their highly anticipated, self-titled, eighth studio album on 1st May 2006. The new album marks the band's first studio release in nearly four years and their first in partnership with J Records. Produced and mixed by Adam Kasper and Pearl Jam, the album was recorded at the band's Studio X recording facility in Seattle. Kasper co-produced Pearl Jam's previous studio album Riot Act, which was released in 2002. Pearl Jam's last European tour took place in 2000 and included two sell-out shows at Wembley Arena. The tour ended in tragedy on June 30th, with an accident at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark, where nine fans died. The band has not performed in Europe since.
